There are many over the counter medicines and supplements that contain ingredients that may
cause dehydration as they act as a diuretic.

Others may contain ingredients that make you more sensitive to the sun and heat, which can also lead to dehydration. There is, however, no evidence to suggest that tanning tablets cause dehydration.

Within the research, for this article, there was not one account of any of the tanning tablets
that we provide causing any form of dehydration, in fact, it could be argued that the opposite is
true.

It is a well-known fact that sun exposure is very damaging to the skin. Also too much heat
can cause dehydration so the use of tanning tablets can actually prevent this and provide a much
safer alternative.

As with any supplements or medication, there may be some mild side effects, so the
consumer should always read the label first and seek any medical advice prior to taking any of
these tablets.

If used with caution then tanning tablets can definitely provide a safer alternative
to sun exposure. No matter what you take, always remember to keep hydrated with water no
matter what.

As with many side effects of tanning tablets, the possibility of weight loss or gain is purely down
to what ingredients are in the tablets.

Ingredients such as beta-carotene and canthaxanthin are used in several food products and contain animal fats which may cause you to gain weight. The tablets that contain ingredients, such as copper, PABA, and L-Tyrosine are much safer options and cause fewer side effects.

There have even been cases of people reporting weight loss whilst taking tanning tablets as they have found that they feel fuller quicker, so they act as a kind of an appetite suppressant.

It is a recommendation whilst taking tanning tablets to take water alongside them. The
combination of both has been known to cause a lovely glow and really hydrated complexion.

The fact that water is encouraged and the pills have a positive effect on those taking them,
indicates clearly that tanning tablets don’t cause water retention. Whilst conducting research I
could find no evidence, whatsoever, of any cases of anybody suffering from water retention.

The majority of the evidence and cases so far of people using tanning tablets indicates largely towards positive outcomes. As with anything, taking tanning tablets should be approached with knowledge and caution.

Seek any advice needed prior to taking them and do your research on the ingredients. Most tablets contain some kind of side effects, however, these are often very rare. Water retention and weight gain don’t seem to be among any side effects associated with these particular tablets.

Tans are as fashionable in this day and age as the latest trends in shoes and clothing. Due to this recent phenomenon many people are taking tanning tablets as a safer option to sunbeds or
spending time in the sun.

But Do Tanning Pills Cause Stomach Cramps?

One of the side effects often associated with tanning tablets is stomach cramps, however,
if you look at the list of side effects on any medication or supplement then stomach cramps will
often be present.

Warnings have to be given for legal reasons, but the side effects often depend on the ingredients present and also on the individual health of the person.

When taking any new supplement it is sensible to seek advice from a health professional
or pharmacy.

Our tanning tablets, however, contain the ingredients Copper, PABA and L-tyrosine. These ingredients are some of the safest and are often included in food products that people consume daily.

The tablets containing these ingredients are safe if you take the right dose. The correct dose is no higher than 12 grams a day, if you exceed this then you might develop some side effects.

Tanning tablets that contain beta carotene are not as safe as other tablets and are more
likely to cause side effects such as stomach cramps.

Although beta carotene isn’t unsafe in low doses, too much of it can lead to a condition called carotenemia, which causes side effects and can cause the skin to develop a yellowish/orange tinge.

To summarise, the evidence suggests that you don’t have to throw away the tanning tablets just yet, or join the pale skin brigade like myself. If taken carefully, with the right ingredients and in the right doses then tanning tablets should not cause any problems.

Taking tanning tablets makes little difference to your exposure to the sun compared to
when you don’t take the tablets.

This, however, does not mean that it is explicitly safe or unsafe to do so. Many factors including the ingredients in the tablets, your natural skin tone, and time in the sun and exposure to UV rays all play a part.

Ingredients in Tanning Tablets

Any of the tanning tablets that include the ingredients Copper, PABA, and L-tyrosine are
relatively safe and good ingredients so there will be no extra risks to taking these pills.

Some of the less than ideal ingredients will include Beta Carotene and other colouring
agents, which can be slightly harmful.

Sunbathing and Skin tone

As stated above, it is generally safe to go in the sun whilst taking certain tablets,
however, some of the risks may involve an individual’s current body type and colouring.

It is already a known fact that those with fair skin, who are prone to moles and freckles
are at a higher risk of developing skin-related illnesses than those with darker skin tone.

A pale person, who has been taking tanning tablets might be mistaken for thinking that
their darker complexion now makes it safer for them to be exposed to the sun.

This could prove to be risky, so it is really down to the sensibility of the individual and for
them to have an awareness of their body.

So is it Safe?

The evidence suggests that with the right ingredients it is safe to take tanning tablets.
Regarding sunbathing whilst taking these tablets, there is little evidence to suggest that
it is any more or less risky than usual.

Sitting in the sun for too long, no matter what, is risky anyway, even without tablets, so people should approach this with the same caution.

The positive of taking tanning tablets is that it will discourage people from sitting in the sun too long, resulting in less damage to the skin.

Research suggests that there is pretty much little to no evidence that suggests that it is not safe to take tanning tablets alongside CBD oil.

There are even several tanning tablets out there that actually contain CBD oil.

Individual Health

As with most things the health of a particular individual should be considered when
taking any form of medication or supplement.

You should really seek guidance from your Doctor before taking anything in relation to your health. For example, somebody with liver problems should be careful when using CBD oil.

Having said that, a healthy person should be perfectly fine taking the two.

A Healthy Individual

I can find no research, whatsoever, claiming that it is unsafe for somebody with no prior
health conditions should not take tanning tablets with CBD oil.

On the contrary, CBD has many benefits to a person’s health and tanning tablets with the right ingredients are safe so a person should check the ingredients first.

Tanning tablets that contain the ingredients Copper, PABA, and L-tyrosine are safe tablets and can be taken alongside CBD oil with no issues. Our own Rio tanning pills use these three safe ingredients.

Hemp Oil and the Skin

The only main issue that I could find in relation to CBD oil is more related to vanity.

Hemp oil has a tendency to clog up the pores of the skin, so this combined with tanning
tablets that contain colouring agents might lead to an increase of spots on the skin.
This can, however, be counteracted by a skin routine that reduces oily skin.

Conclusion

As previously stated the evidence suggests that it is perfectly safe for somebody to take
tanning tablets alongside CBD oil, and there might even be some benefits. As with most things, if unsure then seek some reassurance from your doctor first.

One common concern that we see from new mothers is that they want to use tanning tablets, but they also want to be sure that they won’t harm their baby. Rightfully, both pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers want to be sure that their baby is kept in the best health.

Both sets of these women have to be very careful when ingesting certain types of food, drinks and medication. Therefore, it is natural to be concerned about whether tanning tablets can have any potential side effect that could potentially cause harm to a baby.

Firstly, it is crucial to consider the ingredients of tan tablets. Not all of these tablets will have the same ingredients, and in fact, many can be fairly different in their composition.

Therefore, there isn’t a yes or no answer that would apply to every single tanning tablet available on the market. Although, in general, you should avoid all tanning tablets and supplements due to their potential harm.

Even safe ingredients can potentially be unsafe for pregnant mothers and those breastfeeding. We suggest closely identifying the ingredients on the label, to check whether there could be a potentially harmful substance within the tablets. Furthermore, you should always check with a doctor to see if any possible tablet or supplement could cause any adverse effects.

The Ingredients In Rio’s

The ingredients used in our tablets are perfectly natural and fully FDA approved. However, pregnant mothers and those who are breastfeeding have to be extremely careful with all types of ingredients. Even natural supplements can potentially be unsafe or harmful for a baby.

PABA (Para-aminobenzoic Acid)

The main ingredient in our tanning tablets is PABA (Para-aminobenzoic Acid). This helps to promote natural tanning within your skin. It is completely safe when taken in the dose that is in our tablets. However, some issues can arise at very high doses. Currently, there is insufficient data to show if it is safe for pregnant women or for those breastfeeding. Therefore, you should avoid it to be on the safe side.

Other Ingredients

Our tablets also contain magnesium stearate which is commonly found in most tablets. Therefore, it is very safe and has full FDA approval. Another ingredient is Copper Gluconate which is completely natural and is present within our bodies. However, this ingredient should be avoided for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

L-Tyrosine is also present within our supplement. It naturally occurs in foods such as chicken and has full FDA approval. However, it is not safe to take for pregnant mothers or those who are breastfeeding.

Additionally, our tablets contain, Silica, Microcrystalline Cellulose, and Dicalcium Phosphate. All of these are generally safe and have full FDA approval. However, the research into potential effects on pregnant mothers has been inconclusive, and therefore they should be avoided to stay on the safe side.

Other Brands Ingredients

Beta Carotene

The main ingredient that is present within some other tanning pills is beta carotene. This is the substance that provides the colour which produces a tan-like appearance. It is also used for food colouring.

The substance is transferred into your bloodstream, and some of it will be present in your skin-tissue which can provide a more orange appearance. The health association have issued official guidelines for beta carotene based tanning tablets. They state that high doses of beta carotene can potentially cause birth defects.

The important word here is high, and a regular dose of tanning tablets would not come close to the upper limit. However, the association recommends that all pregnant women and those who are nursing should not take any supplements that have beta carotene.

Conclusion

The simple answer, therefore, is that pregnant women and those who are nursing should not take tanning pills. Pregnant women and those are breastfeeding must be very careful with what they put into their bodies.

They should always seek the advice of a medical professional if they are unsure whether something is unsafe. It is always better to take precautions in such important matters.

Many people spend weeks if not longer trying to get their dream tan either through sunbathing or tanning beds. But should you stop trying to get your dream tan if you’re pregnant? It’s a hotly debated subject with staunch supporters on both sides of the debate.

Let’s take a look at the more natural sunbathing method first shall we?

Sunbathing

Sunbathing outdoors might sound like the better option if you want to get a tan while pregnant, after all, it’s the natural way to get one, isn’t it? In general sunbathing outdoors is better than going to a tanning bed but it does still come with some potential dangers.

Both the sun and the artificial lights in tanning beds produce UV rays but they aren’t the immediate danger when it comes to sunbathing outside. The dangers to watch out for are things like dehydration and even overheating.

If you spend too long outside you can easily start to overheat and feel dehydrated, which is why you should always have a bottle of water with you and ensure you don’t go out when it’s too hot.

When pregnant your skin will also be more sensitive which can cause you to burn more easily.

So, make sure you use suntan lotion and try to tan in the mornings or evenings when it’s a little cooler. Tanning while pregnant is also more popular than you might think because pregnant women do tan more easily.

This is because pregnant women have higher levels of the Melanocyte-stimulating hormone. This hormone makes your skin react to the sun and go darker and with increased levels during pregnancy, getting your dream tan is usually going to be easier and faster.

Tanning Beds

Using tanning beds might seem like the safer alternative to sunbathing outdoors. On the one hand, this does make some sense after all a tanning bed is usually going to be much quicker than tanning outside.

However, just because using a tanning bed is quicker that doesn’t mean it’s safer! The concentration of UV rays given off by a tanning bed is also usually much higher than those given out by the sun. When combined with the more sensitive skin you have during pregnancy, this can lead to an increase in burns.

There is also a lot of evidence suggesting that regular tanning bed sessions can lead to an increased risk of skin cancer. To be specific, there is evidence showing an increased risk of malignant melanoma, the most serious kind of skin cancer.

Some research studies have also suggested there could be a link between UV ray exposure and folic acid deficiency in babies.

We do know that UV rays can break down folic acid but there isn’t enough evidence right now to suggest tanning beds can cause this problem.

That being said there is no law saying you can’t use a tanning bed while pregnant but if you decide to, you should take proper safety precautions and be aware of the risks involved.

You might also want to take more moisturiser with you and keep your stomach covered to decrease the risk of burns and irritation.

Other Safety Concerns

We’ve already explained the risks to you and your baby in brief but let’s look at some other safety concerns you need to know about if you’re going to get a tan while pregnant.

One issue to look out for is chloasma (sometimes called melasma) which is a skin condition that causes discoloured patches on the skin.

The vast majority of people affected by this condition are women and exposure to UV rays can exacerbate the problem and evidence suggests regular tanning of any kind could also trigger it as well.

So, there are potential safety concerns when it comes to tanning either by using a bed or by sunbathing outside. Yes, you can use either of these methods to go and get a tan but I and many other professionals would strongly advise against it.

But does that mean there is no way to get a tan while pregnant then?

Tanning Alternatives

If you want a nice summer ready tan but don’t want to risk UV exposure and the other dangers we’ve talked about, then you do have another option. Namely self-tanning lotions. The majority of these lotions are safe to use during pregnancy and the chemicals in them won’t be absorbed past the first layer of your skin.

However, you should still consult with your doctor first before using them just in case and make sure you stick to lotions and not spray tans. This is because the chemicals in spray tans can reach your baby if you breathe them in during the tanning process.

Getting a spray tan is becoming a popular alternative to a trip to the tanning beds. There is strong evidence showing a connection between regular tanning bed sessions and an increased risk of skin cancer.

Therefore many people who want that dream bronze tan will instead opt to get a spray tan instead.

Spray tans are applied at tanning salons by a beauty therapist and they can be applied in a variety of different ways.

Your beauty therapist will ask how dark you want your tan to be and there are numerous different formulas that can be used during the tanning process.

It all sounds pretty simple so far, doesn’t it? But are spray tans actually safe? When we compare them to tanning bed treatments and even sunbathing outside, spray tans are safer in one respect because there will be no exposure to potentially harmful UV rays.

However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t some potential side effects and dangers to know about. So, before you go and book yourself a spray tan session make sure you read our findings. Without any further ado let’s take a look at the potential dangers in more detail.

DHA Might Not Be A-OK

Spray tanning might not feature UV rays but it does have plenty of chemicals which as I am sure you can guess aren’t always going to be the safest thing to have sprayed on your body.

However, one of the more potentially harmful ingredients in spray tans is actually the carbohydrate, dihydroxyacetone also known as DHA.

DHA is also what really makes spray tans work, as it reacts with the natural amino acids in dead skin cells and gives them a darker more tan-like colour. This will naturally fade over time as your body sheds the dead skin cells.

DHA can be derived from sugars, plants, and glycerine and is a very active ingredient in spray tans but also one that carries some potential health risks.

If you inhale the spray during the tanning process you could experience nausea, headaches or dizziness.

But more serious symptoms have been reported as well as it is believed breathing in DHA can also trigger asthmatic attacks, cause allergic reactions, cause lung disease and some researchers believe it could also cause lung cancer.

DHA can also prevent or significantly reduce your skins ability to produce vitamin D, which is ironically one of the benefits of using tanning beds and sunbathing outside.

This can cause your skin to experience more problems when exposed to the sun because it won’t be as strong. One final concern worth mentioning is the risk of DHA having mutagenic capabilities.

Now don’t get too worried as I know this sounds very extreme.

The research into these properties is still quite minimal. Research with mouse cells showed DHA could damage DNA and that understandably could cause a lot of issues. But at the moment it’s not known whether this does affect human cells in any way.

Many of the dangers with DHA are because it can be accidentally inhaled during the spray tanning process. When applied to the skin a percentage of DHA will be also absorbed although at the moment it’s not believed this causes any problems.

However, it is still a good idea to ensure any cuts or scratches on the skin are sufficiently covered up before getting a spray tan.

You should also wear a face mask while getting a spray tan as well. Yes, you might feel a little silly doing this but it is often advised by salons and it will help you reduce the risk of exposure.

So, by taking proper precautions you can reduce the potential risks that come with DHA.

Other Safety Concerns

While DHA is the number one concern when it comes to getting a spray tan it’s not the only potential ingredient that could cause potentially harmful side-effects.

Colouring agents and fragrances are commonly found in spray tans and are not always properly listed.

Some people are allergic to these ingredients and they can cause the skin to become irritated after the tanning process. Chemical sensitivity to these ingredients is another issue and this can cause a wide variety of issues from things like tiredness and headaches, to more serious issues like difficulty breathing, neurological issues, and seizures.

Should I Get A Spray Tan?

Plenty of people get spray tans without issue but that doesn’t mean there aren’t dangers as you’ve seen.

Take the proper precautions and always ask what you’re being sprayed with so you know what’s going on your body.

You will also want to avoid getting a spray tan too often because you will want to give your skin some time heal and produce the very important vitamin D.

Pregnant women should also avoid spray tans to prevent any chemicals from potentially harming their baby if they breathe them in.

When you go to get a tan you probably think of taking a session on a tanning bed, using some fake tanning lotion or if it’s sunny, just spending some time outside sunbathing. However, there is another way to get that ready for summer tan and that is by using nasal tanning sprays.

On the face of it, nasal tanning sprays sound a little too good to be true, don’t they? Instead of spending some time in a tanning bed you snort a nasal spray and your skin gets that desired tan you want, it’s understandable if you’re not quite convinced.

But nasal tanning sprays have been shown to work. They might not be as fast acting as tanning injections or tanning beds but they can work despite how strange they might sound. Nasal tanning sprays take around 3–4 weeks to work and require daily applications during this timeframe.

***Click Here For A Better & Safer Way To Tan***

Once you have the tan you wanted you can reduce the number of applications to once or twice a week to maintain it. So, if you do want to use nasal tanning sprays make sure you are prepared for the upkeep it requires to ensure you get the tan you want.

How Do They Work?

Nasal tanning sprays are taken in pretty much the same way allergy sprays are taken. They contain Melanotan which is a cosmetic peptide, this is what tans your skin.

Melanotan stimulates a natural increase in your skins melanin production but what makes nasal sprays different from injection treatments is that they contain Melanotan 2.

Melanotan comes in two forms and Melanotan 1 is generally considered much more effective because it provides quicker results. While Melanotan 2 which is used in the nasal sprays is much slower. However, some people have found this results in a more natural looking tan.

One of the main criticisms of nasal tanning sprays is that they also have a poor absorption rate. This is because your nasal passage will only be able to absorb around 40% of the Melanotan at most, which is something to consider.

Nasal tanning sprays also seem to have a very mixed success rate. Some users have reported getting their dream tans within just a few weeks. While others have seen only small differences or no difference at all after repeated applications.

Many brands also recommend getting as much sun exposure as possible during the application process to help promote the tan. This might sound like good advice but when you consider that many of the people who want to use nasal tanning sprays are likely to be fair skinned, this could put them at greater risk.

***Click Here For A Better & Safer Way To Tan***

Are They Safe To Use?

One of the biggest concerns over nasal tanning sprays is that not a lot is actually known about Melanotan 2 and it could hold many dangerous side effects. In 2013 The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency shut down over 70 websites selling nasal tanning sprays in the UK due to concerns over their safety.

The law is also more complex when it comes to Melanotan. Under current UK law it is illegal to sell both Melanotan 1 and Melanotan 2, however, it is not illegal for people to buy it. A quick look on the internet will bring up many people selling both nasal tanning sprays and even Melanotan 2 injections.

So, despite not being officially available in many countries, obtaining a spray is still relatively simple and straightforward and not actually illegal either. So, many people who want a natural looking tan without using tanning beds or injections are using them.

Because they are still largely untested and unlicensed, a lot is still not known about the safety risks of using Melanotan 2. However, we do know some possible side effects of it. For one thing, it suppresses the appetite which has led to some people wanting to use the spray, not only to get a tan but also to help them lose weight.

Research from the University of Auckland in New Zealand also found it to cause facial flushing, and in men, it can also cause spontaneous erections a few hours after an application.

There is also concern that Melanotan 2 could actually increase the risk of skin cancer as well, although at present there is no hard evidence to support this.

The big risk with nasal tanning sprays is that right now we simply don’t know a lot about them which makes using them potentially harmful. While they have been shown to help some people get a more natural looking tan, it can’t be argued that there are safer alternatives for people to use.

If you want to find a safer and better way to tan you should consider tanning tablets. Tanning pills are much more convenient and are not harsh on the body. If you want to read more and maybe even try Rio Tanning Tablets, simply follow the link.

We are all fully aware of the fact that tanning in the direct UV rays of the sun is extremely dangerous and presents many serious risks. Such has been the case with tanning beds as well since they, in fact, utilize the same type of dangerous UV rays in the lighting in tanning beds.

In addition, many of the tanning creams, oils and gels produce unnatural looking tans, orange in colour, and can also pose other risk factors as well. With all this said, studies have revealed that most people prefer the use of spray tans or tanning pills as their primary resource for acquiring an all-natural suntanned body.

Today research has revealed that spray tanning is fast becoming a favoured resource for tanning and is growing in popularity every day. Fairly inexpensive, going into a professional salon where your body is sprayed from head to toes resulting in a beautiful bronzed skin tone. This technique is far less harmful and indeed a whole lot less time consuming than basking in extremely hot UV rays of the sun or baking yourself in tanning beds time and time again.

People have found that the procedure itself, the cost, the results achieved and indeed the lack of risk factors make spray tans a truly effective and safe tanning resource all year round.

On the other hand, many people today have found extreme favour in the use of tanning pills. It does not get much easier than consuming the appropriate dose of pills each day and disciplining yourself to do so. The results achieved by tanning pills are amazing and again, like spray tans, they afford no real risk factors or complications.

The majority of tanning pills available on the market today contain organic, all natural ingredients that are not only safe and effective but are FDA approved as well. These simple tan tanning pills contain ingredients that blend with the Melanin in your own body to produce pigmentation that results in varying levels of bronzed suntanned skin.

Yes, people everywhere are all about sporting a tanned body year round and especially during the hot summer months. Studies tell us that the two most popular resources for acquiring your perfect tan are definitely pills and spray tans.

Both tanning techniques have proven to be successful and both, again, present with no real side effects or risk factors. If you are like the thousands of people who are so committed to a suntanned look, then these two techniques are the most beneficial form of tanning available today.

Yes, people are still going to lay out and bake themselves in the direct sunlight, and many will continue to use tanning beds and sun tanning lamps, but surely the results they achieve over time may be attractive on the surface but may present serious complications in the years to come.

Why not trust an effective, safe and proven successful method of sun tanning and one that is every bit affordable. Choose either spray tans or tanning pills and enjoy the benefits of your suntanned body without any of the risks or complications.
